0.5.411: a box of joists doubled in one go, and a signed DimSum
Drag a box inside a joist floor to pick its joists and double them at once, Ctrl+click that doesn't lose your pick, and the first DimSum signed by Planbase Estimating LLC.
The goal of this version
A small update that fixes doubling a set of joists, the way testers told us it should work. In 0.5.410 a box only picked joists once the floor was already selected, and one Ctrl+click a little off a joist threw away everything picked so far, so only some of the joists doubled. Now you can drag straight across the joists you want and double them all in one step. This is also the first DimSum signed by Planbase Estimating LLC, so Windows knows who made the installer and every update.
What's new to try
- Pick joists with a box from inside the floor. With nothing selected, start a drag inside a joist floor: the box picks the joists it crosses. Right-click → Double joists. One Undo takes it back, and the rim board is left alone.
- Ctrl+click that keeps your pick. A click a little beside a joist picks the nearest one, and a click on no joist keeps what you've picked and says so.
- Right-click between picked joists and the menu still offers Double joists. A joist that's doubled already counts once.
- A signed installer. Right-click the installer → Properties → Digital Signatures: it names Planbase Estimating LLC. From this version on, DimSum installs only updates signed by Planbase Estimating LLC. If you're on 0.5.410, this version arrives as a normal update.
What we're fine-tuning, and what to look for
- Picking joists with a box. Can you get exactly the joists you want, first time, at your usual zoom?
- Ctrl+click on closely spaced joists. Does a click ever pick the joist next to the one you meant?
- The download. Did Windows warn you about the installer? Windows can still warn about a newly signed program for a while; tell us what it said.
Known issues
- Windows SmartScreen can still warn about the installer for a while, until the new signature builds up a reputation. More info names Planbase Estimating LLC. Updates DimSum downloads itself don't show it.
- The known issues listed for 0.5.410 are still open.
